A mobile harbour crane overturned while it was being worked on at the Kakinada deep water port in Andhra Pradesh, India on Saturday, bringing down another crane standing that had been standing alongside.
An electrical engineer - Laxman Kumar, 35, - died in the incident, while at least three others were injured, including the site supervisor who remains in a critical condition.
The crane that overturned had been damaged in a recent Cyclone and was being repaired, when “a technical issue led to the collapse of machine nearby onto the people who were working under the two cranes." At least six others escaped with minor injuries.
