Changzhou National Hi-Tech District and Terex China have signed an agreement for invest $100 million in the Phase III project to expand its local manufacturing operations.
The capital increase is intended to step up and add to the number and efficiency of suppliers and services in the Hi Tech district, helping complete the district's engineering and machinery manufacturing ecosystem, helping Terex to increase local content levels and expand production of aerial lifts and components etc..
Until now the Terex/Genie?(Changzhou) factory – which opened in 2011 - has been producing a wide range of Genie scissors, and some telescopic booms, some designed specifically for the local market, while others are global Genie products which are also exported.
Changzhou National Hi-tech District is located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta to the north west of Shanghai, and covers an area of 1,508 square kilometres. It is currently home to 1,641 companies with foreign ownership or substantial foreign investment.
