Liebherr Korea has opened a new parts, service and training centre to meet a growing demand.

The new facility, located around 60km from the South Korean capital Seoul, replaces an existing centre on the eastern edge of the city. Liebherr Mobile Cranes Korea Ltd. was founded in June 2002 as a subsidiary of Liebherr Ehingen and has been responsible for the sales and service of Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes, to which it now adds responsibility for the MK range of mobile self-erecting tower cranes, which are growing in popularity in Korea.

This year the company has delivered 25 mobile cranes, a new record. The latest delivery is the first 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane to arrive in Korea, which was handed over to rental company Goryeo Crane Corp during the official opening of the new building. . Goryeo is based in Busan, south east Korea. The new crane joins 10 other Liebherr All Terrain cranes with lifting capacities between 60 and 500 tonnes in the Goryeo fleet.

Liebherr family member Sophie Albrecht spoke at the opening and said: “Your confidence in our company and our products convinced us to invest in this new centre to improve our service even more and to be even more closely aligned with our Korean customers.

Liebherr Ehingen managing director Christoph Kleiner added: “We want to keep up with the developments on the market, the crane population and the service requirements related to it. And we also want to improve the level of our partnership. We are not just a crane supplier, we supply solutions and want to provide you with the best possible support in your daily challenges.”
