German crane rental and heavy haulage company Wille Krane has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain crane.
The eight axle crane, which has replaced a 10 year old 350 tonne Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1, can travel complete with its 85 metre main boom, outriggers and winch within 12 tonne axle loads. The crane also features the VarioBallast adjustable counterweight, and Liebherr’s Variobase outrigger set up system. The company has said that it will be used for a combination of tower crane erecting, industrial installation work and maintenance of wind turbines.
Wille Krane joint managing director Mario Schneider said: “Since our customers’ requirements have increased, we decided to invest in a larger crane. The high lifting capacities of the LTM 1450-8.1 together with its long telescopic boom will also enable us to expand the types of work we can tackle. The new eight axle crane is also ideal for use on constricted sites. The reducible ballast radius and variable support base are worth their weight in gold.”
