Spanish rental company Gruas Aguilar has taken delivery of seven Liebherr cranes topped by a 1,200 tonne All Terrain.
The order includes one 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city type All Terrain crane, four other All Terrains cranes - two 130 tonne LTM 1130-5.1, one 230 tonne LTM 1230-5.1 and one 1,200 tonne LTM 11200-9.1 along with a 100 tonne LRT 1100-2.1 Rough Terrain crane, and a 600 tonne LR 1600/2-W narrow track crawler crane.
The LRT 1100-2.1 will be the first of the new Liebherr Rough Terrain cranes to be delivered in Spain, while the LTM 11200-9.1 is the largest telescopic crane sold in Spain since 2009. The LR 1600/2-W has been specially designed for wind farm jobs, with an overall width of its tracks of just 5.8 metres, allowing the crane to travel from one turbine to the next on the narrow wind farm roads.
Managing director Luis Aguilar said: “We have been interested in the characteristics of the LR 1600/2-W for years, particularly its mobility on site and its lifting capacity. And then we decided that we had to have one of these cranes in our fleet. And it will make an important contribution to our new wind power division which we are currently establishing in our company.”
Headquartered in Madrid, Gruas Aguilar celebrates its 50th anniversary this month. The company’s fleet includes over 50 All Terrain cranes with capacities ranging from 40 to 1,200 tonnes from its six depots in Spain.
