US sales and rental company CraneWorks has taken delivery of a 45 tonne Demag AC 45 City All Terrain crane, the first in North America.

The AC 45 features a 31.2 metre main boom and can telescope loads of up to 19.7 tonnes. A 7.1 to 13 metre offsettable extension takes the maximum on board tip height to over 45 metres. It is also fitted with Demag's IC-1 Plus system, which calculates the load chart based on the crane’s configuration.

Chief executive Keith Ayers said: “We have a lot of customers who work in urban areas. It can be a real challenge if they don’t have the appropriately sized crane that can handle challenging lifts. This new unit is everything they want in a crane. It has a compact chassis that can fit where other machines can’t, it has an incredible reach, and it can lift heavy loads with ease. I think our customers are really going to like this crane.”

Established in 2002, CraneWorks is based in Houston, Texas with eight other North American branches. The company’s fleet of cranes and aerial lifts features models from manufacturers such as Demag/Terex, Jekko, Palfinger, Manitex, Bronto Skylift, Manitou and Socage.
