Havant-based Marsh Plant Hire Ltd, which supplies a wide range of mobile cranes and contractor’s general plant hire throughout the south and Midlands, has started to take delivery of its next batch of mobile crane purchases from Liebherr Great-Britain. These include three LTM 1040-2.1 mobile cranes and two LTM 1060-3.1 mobile cranes. All models have been specified with Variobase®.
With both axles driven and steerable, the compact two-axle LTM 1040-2.1 has excellent all-terrain capability and manoeuvrability on even the most confined building sites. A maximum load capacity of 40 tonnes means that it offers outstanding load carrying performance over the entire operating area and its 35 m long, continuously variable four-section telescopic boom uses the proven hydro-mechanical telescoping system to extend to the required length quickly, with the telescoping operation also able to be performed under load.
The LTM 1060-3.1’s compact three-axle chassis combined with a number of other highly useful features including its boom length, give it superb versatility when combined with the compactness of the model, make it a popular choice. Six-wheel steering gives it excellent manoeuvrability and a five-section main boom gives a maximum operating height of 48 m, which can be increased with a fly jib. In the UK, the LTM 1060-3.1 can travel with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight and a double fly jib and remain within STGO regulations.
Andy Honeywell, Marsh Plant Hire Ltd’s Managing Director said: ‘We are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with Liebherr and continue to be impressed by the product specification and aftersales support they provided. We are considering further Liebherr orders for the second half of 2018′
