UK rental company Select Plant Hire has taken delivery of eight Liebherr crawler cranes.
The order includes four 60 tonne LTR 1060 telescopics, three 100 tonne LTR 1100 telescopics and a 160 tonne LR 1160.1 lattice boom crawler crane. All eight cranes feature EU Stage V compliant engines with the LTR 1060s and LTR 1100s becoming the first in the UK to feature, what the company claims as, the lowest emission engines currently available.
Final delivery is scheduled for August 2020
Alex Warrington, business unit leader at Select, said: “At Select we are constantly looking to technology to ensure that we minimise our impact on the environment. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Liebherr who share this vision.”
Select business stream leader - lifting solutions, Eddie Carr, added: “Our crawler cranes are currently supporting major infrastructure projects such as Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, Tideway and HS2 as well as our wider portfolio of customers. This investment will enable these projects to be delivered using the latest engine technology. Our continued investment in crawler cranes reflects a wider business strategy to ensure that we continue to provide the most modern equipment to our customers.”
Part of the Laing O'Rourke construction group, Select has a fleet of tower cranes, crawler cranes, aerial lifts and hoists. Delivery of the new cranes has already started with the final unit scheduled for delivery in August.
