US based general contractor Northern Construction has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Liebherr LTR 1100 telescopic crawler crane.
The crane has a 52 metre main boom and is equipped with a 10.6 to 18.9 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which can offset by up to 40 degrees. The new crane is the second Liebherr telescopic crawler crane to join the company's fleet, following the purchase of its first unit last year.

The LTR 1100 features a Tier 4 compliant diesel and Liebherr's LICCON 2 operating system, which allows the operator to view a load chart, select different configurations, and adjust the controls to suit the task at hand. The crane is also equipped with bluetooth remote controls.
The company said: "Our first telescopic crawler crane has performed exceptionally well on tight jobsites where space is a premium. Conventional cranes with larger outrigger spans and overall footprints were not practical. The solution was the smaller foot print and minimal counterweight tail swing the LTR 1100 offers. The low ground pressure and three different track widths also makes the the crane very manoeuvrable. The robust chart especially in pick and carry situations is also a plus."
Northern is based in Palmer Massachusetts and specialises in bridge construction, site work, marine construction, concrete work and utilities throughout New England and New York.
